Background

Jacquelyn Taylor is an associate professor of nursing and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Nurse Faculty Scholar in the Division of Primary Care at the Yale School of Nursing. Dr. Taylor is prepared as both a pediatric nurse practitioner and a school nurse practitioner. She earned her undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degrees in nursing from Wayne State University College of Nursing, and holds a certificate in molecular genetics from Georgetown University.

Interests

Taylor works in the fields of genomics, epigenomics, and metabolomics, as well as hypertension, metabolic syndrome, pediatrics, across the lifespan, and minority health. She is a lead PI for the Intergenerational Blood Pressure Study (InterGEN), which studies the genetic, psychological and environmental factors that may contribute to high blood pressure. By conducting community-based research to understand these factors, Taylor and the InterGEN project seek to reduce hypertension health disparities among underserved Black/African American children and their mothers.
