Background

Ryan Charles Hynd is an assistant professor of mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania. He holds a BS and MSc in applied mathematics from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a PhD in mathematics from University of California, Berkeley.

Interests

Hynd’s research interests are partial differential equations, geophysics, probability, stochastic optimal control and calculus of variations. He researches partial differential equations in connection with mathematical models for fluid mechanics, control theory, finance, and with eigenvalue problem, and is also dedicated to promoting diversity in STEM.
